SW Asia Government Vocabulary

TermDefinition
autocracy a system of government by one person with absolute power.
absolute monarchy A system of government in which the leader is a hereditary position who has almost complete power
democracy A political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
Presidential Democracy The people vote for the president and Congress
Parliamentary Democracy The people vote for the legislature then the legislature chooses one of its members to enforce the laws
