What does charter mean? charter (an official paper in which certain rights are given by a government to a person or business. A permission slip.)
What is a trustee? someone who governs the country
What are 3 reasons for the settling of Georgia? philanthropy, economics, defense
How many acres of land could each family own? 500
Why could land only be passed down to a son not a daughter? worried a woman couldn’t defend her land
Why was slaves banned in the colony? thought it would make the colonist lazy
Why was rum and hard liquors banned? Trustees believed it led to laziness
Why was Catholics and Jews banned? Great Britain was a Protestant nation. Fear was the Catholics would join with Spain if there was conflict
