Term | Definition |

Fiction | literature that describes imaginary events and people |
Non-Fiction | prose writing that is based on facts, real events, and real people, such as biography or history |
Genre | category of artistic composition, as in music or literature, characterized by similarities in form, style, or subject matter |
Fact | a piece of information used as evidence or as part of a report or news article |
Opinion | a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge |
Authority | a person or organization having power or control in a particular, typically political or administrative, sphere |
Credibility | the quality of being trusted and believed in |
Bias | prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair |
Primary Sources | document that contains information obtained by research or by observing something carefully |
Secondary Sources | one that was created later by someone who did not experience first-hand or participate in the events or conditions you're researching |
