censorship | the act of limiting what people can hear, see, or say in the media |
citizen participation | the process by which people exercise their right to influence government |
democracy | a form of government in which the people rule, either directly or through elected representatives |
democratic | characterized by allowing all members to have an equal voice in making decisions |
dictator | the powerful ruler of an autocracy |
free election | a genuine opportunity for citizens to vote without fear or intimidation and to have their votes counted fairly |
government | a system of rule by which a country, state, or other political unit is managed |
voting | the formal act of expressing one’s individual opinion or choice in order to make a decision for a group |
Monarchy | a form of government with a monarch at the head. Usually inherit their role. Power can be absolute or limited |
Absolute Monarchy | form of government in which a monarch has total control of a country |
Constitutional Monarchy | a form of government where the monarch is limited by a constitution. Usually a ceremonial role |
