Terms specific to Middle or Mid-Atlantic Colonies

William Penn Quaker who founded Pennsylvania as a place for tolerance and peace
Quakers religious group that settled mainly in Pennsylvania and created a colony that was tolerant to Native Americans and other religions
Cash Crops large amounts of crops that allow a farmer to sell them
Bread Basket Colonies Middles colonies that focused on fast growing grain crops like wheat and rye, these grains are used to make bread
Grain crops Wheat, oats, barley, rye - these crops grown fast and match the short growing season of the middle colonies
