| rural | farmland or countryside where population density is much lower |
| folktales | a legend or story that is traditional to a group of people or culture |
| Pan-Africanism | belief that peoples of African descent have a common identity and interest and should be unified |
| savanna | grassland with some trees that is home to an abundance of wildlife in Africa |
| rift valley | a crack in the crust between two tectonic plates that is created when they move apart |
