Protists are seperated from monerans(bacteria) because they... Are more complex, their life processes are carried out in organelles such as chloroplasts, mitochondria, and vacuoles, and they have genetic material(DNA) in the nucleus instead of just floating around in the cytoplasm
Because they contain this, they can make their own food through... Chlorophll and Photosynthesis
