| Prejudice | A negative learned attitude toward a group of people. |
| Racism | Discrimination directed at a specific racial group. |
| Nativism | The belief that "native born Americans" were superior to immigrants. |
| Segregation | The rule or practice of separating people of different races |
| Courting | To be involved with someone romantically. |
| The Age of Intolerance | An era from the 1920s and 1930s when many things were not tolerated such as alcohol |
| Curse of the Bambino | Babe Ruth was traded to the Red Sox and then the Red Sox lost the World Series year after year into the 21st century. This was called the "Curse of the Bambino." |
