Benito Mussolini Mussolini's first role was help get Hitler into power. Mussolini came to power in Italy more than a decade before Hitler took power in Germany. His rise to power helped to inspire Hitler, and Hitler's fascist thinking .
Joseph Stalin Stalin completely reorganized the Soviet military, placing himself directly in charge of several military organizations. This gave him complete control of his country's entire war effort; more control than any other leader in World War II.
Dwight Eisenhower A supreme commander of Allied forces in Western Europe during World War II, Dwight D. Eisenhower led the massive invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe that began on D-Day (June 6, 1944).
Douglas MacAurthur An American general best known for his command of Allied forces in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Harry S. Truman The 33rd president that dropped the atomic bomb on Japan, ending World War II
Adolf Hitler Leader of the Nazi Party. His goal was to expel the Jews from the Greater German Reich
Winston Churchill Prime Minister of Britain. He allied the British people and led the country from the brink of defeat to victory. He shaped Allied strategy in the war, and in the war's later stages he alerted the West to the expansionist threat of the Soviet Union
Erwin Rommel One of Germany's most respected military leaders. He was a part in two very significant battles during the war – at El Alamein in North Africa and at D-Day.
Chester Nimitz A commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet during World War II. He commanded all land and sea forces in the central Pacific
