What were the Articles of Confederation? The way the government operated during the American Revolution, and the first form of government
What were the main functions of the Articles of confederation? Defend the country, pay its debts, settle arguments between states, maintain relationships with other countries, and set up a postal service for mail going between states.
Why didn't the confederation have an executive branch of government? because the colonists remembered the executive power of the king and royal governors and did not want that.

What did the amount of land that a soldier got depend on? Depended on the rank of the soldier. The higher the rank, the more land that soldier got.
Why did many settlers begin to come to Georgia? because the state continued to grant land by the headright system.
What is the headright system? The "head" of the family had the "right" to receive two hundred acres of land plus fifty acres for each additional household member.

Why were Georgia's claims to the land of the Creek illegal? because McGillivray said that since his followers hadn't agreed to the 1783 treaty, it was illegal.
