QuestionAnswer
What was the first form of government in the U.S. The Articles of Confederation.
Which branch did the Articles not have? The Executive Branch.
What did the colonists fear about government? They feared that all the power would be in the central government.
What is a unicameral legislature? It is a legislature with one house.
What had to happen to change the Articles? Every state had to agree.
Who was the power shared with in the Georgia government? Executive power was shared between a government and a council.
Did Georgia have a court system? Yes, there was a superior court in every county.
What had more value than money in Georgia? Land.
What happened to the loyalist's land? It was either taken or sold .
What were the two types of grants? The headright system and a bounty grant.
What was a bounty grant? Soldiers who were in both the militia and the continental army were granted land.
How much land could you get from a bounty grant? It depended on your rank.
What was the headright system? The head of the family is granted two hundred acres of land and fifty more for every member of the household.
How long was Augusta the capital of Georgia? Ten years.
Who tried to bring the Native Americans and the Georgians together? Alexander McGillivray.
