1st Amendment Freedom of Religion, Speech, and the Press
2nd Amendment The Right to Bear Arms - all citizens have the right to own guns.
3rd Amendment Housing of Soldiers - unlawful for the government to force citizens to house soldiers.
4th Amendment Searches, Seizures, and Warrants - protects the people from illegal searches and seizures (taking property) without a warrant.
5th Amendment Rights in Criminal Trials - people cannot not be made to testify against themselves. ("I plead the 5th!")
6th Amendment Right to a Fair Trial - people have the right to a speedy public trial.
7th Amendment Rights in a Civil Trial
8th Amendment Bail, Fines, and Punishment - protects people from cruel and unusual punishment.
9th Amendment Rights Kept by the People - any rights not listed in the Constitution shall be kept by the people.
10th Amendment Powers Kept by the States and People - rights not given to the national government are rights kept by the states or the people.
