Equity A judge can rule an injunction
Injunction A court order to halt a person or group to stop action
How do civil cases start? Starts by a complaint by a lawyer.
Who is the defendant? The person who is accused and brought to court.
Who is the plaintiff? The person who initiates the case.
What is discovery and what is it's purpose? It is finding facts about the case so there won't be any surprises.
Who is a mediator? A third person in the case that offers a neutral position and helps communication in settlements.
