Scripture | Any writing that is regarded as sacred by a religious group. |
Christianity | The monotheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and emphasizing the role of Jesus as a savior. |
Judaism | The monotheistic religion of the Jews having its spiritual and ethical principles embodied chiefly in the Torah and in the Talmud. |
Islam | The monotheistic religion of Muslims founded in Arabia in the 7th century and based on the teachings of Muhammad as laid down in the Koran. |
Easter | A Christian celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. |
Hajj | The fifth pillar of Islam is a pilgrimage to Mecca during the month of Dhu al-Qadah. |

Ramadan | The holy month of Islam believed to be the time when the Koran was given to Muhammad. Celebrated in the ninth lunar month of each year, a strict fast is observed from sunrise to sunset. |
Quran or Koran | Holy book of Islam. |
Torah | (Judaism) the scroll of parchment on which the first five books of the Hebrew Scripture is written. |
Absolute Monarchy | A system of government in which the head of state is a hereditary position and the king or queen has almost complete power. |
Monotheism | The belief in one God. |
Dictatorship | A ruler who has absolute power. |
