| Marshall Plan | US program that supplied billions of dollars in aid to help rebuild Europe after WWII. |
| Berlin Airlift | Year long initiative by the US, UK, and France to deliver food and supplies to West Berlin by air after the Soviets put up blockades. |
| North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) | Cold War military alliance established by the US, England, and other Western nations to deter a Soviet attack on member nations |
