Forming a US Government

TermDefinition
Constitution an instruction book for how to run the government.
Confederation A partnership or alliance
Bill of Rights a document that protecting certain freedoms guaranteed to its citizens (press, religion, trial by jury, speech etc.).
Articles of Confederation The first "constitution" of the United States that gave all the power to the states and little power to the U.S. government.
Central government A political authority which governs the entire nation (all the states).
Ratified Passed, approved.
