Milicia Pequeño ejército de ciudadanos comunes entrenados para luchar en caso de emergencia.
Tirania El uso injusto del poder del gobierno. Un gobernante que usa el poder de esta manera se denomina tirano.
Derogar Retirar o cancelar una ley.
Boicot Negarse a comprar uno o más artículos de una fuente determinada. Un rechazo organizado por muchas personas también se denomina boicot.
Independencia Libertad del control de otro gobierno o país.
Petición Pedido formal por escrito dirigido a una persona u organización official.
Sentido Común Folleto publicado en 1776 por Thomas Paine que convenció a muchos colonos estadounidenses de apoyar la independencia.
Declaración de Independencia El documento escrito para declarar a las colonias estadounidenses como una nación independiente, libre del régimen británico.
