| ethnic group | a group of people who share cultural ideas and beliefs that have been a part of their community for generations |
| Five Pillars of Islam | five things Muslims must do in their practice of Islam, during their lifetime |
| Gaza Strip | a coastal region at the southeast corner of the Mediterranean Sea bordering Israel and Egypt |
| Islam | religious faith of Muslims, based on the words and religious system founded by the prophet Muhammad |
| Israel | a republic in South West Asia, on the Mediterranean Sea, created in 1948 by the United Nations as a home to the Jewish people of the world |
| Judaism | a religious group of Jews who believe in one God |

| water pollution | contamination of water supplies due to chemicals, fertilizers, sewage, and other garbage |
