Term | Definition |

Bias | Being in favor of one thing compared to another. |
Journalism | Writing news that is prepared to be broadcast through various media (newspapers, magazines, websites, etc.) |
Evenhanded | Treating both sides with no favoritism. Impartial judgment. |
Conservative | Valuing tradition and cautious about change. |
Liberal | Open to new behavior or opinions, at the expense of tradition. |
Loaded Language | Words and phrases that create strong emotional impact for the audience. (ex: demonization vs. criticism) |
Propaganda | Misleading information that promotes a particular point of view. Its intent is to keep people ignorant of the truth. |
Stereotype | A universal, oversimplified idea of a person or thing. |
Objective (viewpoint) | Keeping to the facts of the story without stating anything more. A detached observer. |
Point of View | A particular attitude towards something. |
