| culture | Beliefs, customs, and traditions of a specific group of people. |
| institutions | Long-standing practices, traditions, or customs that regulate a group. |
| cultural trait | A characteristic, such as language, beliefs, food, or customs that is shared by a group. |
| cultural region | A spatial area that is characterized by a population that shares common beliefs, history, language, customs, and traditions. |
| map | A two-dimensional, or flat, representation of Earth's surface or a portion of it. |
| map legend | Lists and explains the symbols and colors used on a map. |
| compass rose | A drawing that shows the orientation of north, south, west, and east on a map. |
| globe | A round model of the Earth. |
| region | An area of Earth distinguished b a distinctive combination of cultural and physical features. |
