Compass Rose a circular direction marker on a map
Cardinal directions main directions;North,South,West,East.
Intermediate Directions The in between directions, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast,Southwest.
map key part of a map that explains what the symbols on a map stand for.
map scale part of a map that compare a distance on a map to a distance in the real world .
map title words on a map that tell a subject of a map.
inset map a smaller map inside of a larger map
physical map primary purpose is to show land form like mountains,deserts, and plains.
political map shows boundaries of countries and states,locations of major cities and important bodies of water
historical map a map that gives information about a place as it was in the past
grid map an arrangement of lines that divides something into squares such as a map
