What is the Comprise of 1850? A series of Bills that would make California free, Texas slave, New Mexico Territories have not restrictions on slaves, no more slave trade, and fugitive slave act.
What was the people response to the Comprise of 1850? Most people were somewhat okay with this, but due to the run-away slave act the North did not accept this.
What is the Kansas-Nebraska Act? It was written by Stephen A. Douglas and made to where new state can decide to be slave or not.
What is Bleeding Kansas? Bleeding Kansas was a series of fights, disputes, and blood shed due to people fight over whether Kansas was to be a free or slave state.
What did John Brown do at bleeding Kansas? He and his sons attacked and killed pro-slavery men
Why did John Brown kill people and tried to start a mini-rebellion ? John Brown was an abolitionist who believed the only way the slave would every be set free was through violence and it was his God given right to promote this violence.
Why did John Brown go and raid Harper's Ferry? Home to a federal arsenal
What was Brown's hope once the rebellion went underway? That he would gain many new supporters
Who killed most of Brown's men? Robert E. Lee and Local milita
What happened first Bleeding Kansas or John Brown's Raid? Bleeding Kansas
What were the people's reaction to John Brown's exultation? Although the North disagreed with Brown's reaction the could understand where he was coming from. The South was out raged that someone would got that far for personal beliefs.
What is a Border Ruffian? Border Ruffians were pro-slavery men who cross the border from Missouri and would vote for slavery in Kansas
What happen during the election of 1860? The Republican Party was formed
Who was John C. Form? Southern Democrat and supported slavery also believed secession was a right.
