Secular Related to worldly things
Urban Having to do with a town or city
Mercenary A soldier who fights for money rather than loyalty to a country
Diplomacy The practice of conducting negotiations between countries
Humanism Belief in the worth of the individual and that reason is a path to knowledge
Reformation A religious movement that produced a new form of Christianity known as Protestantism
Indulgence A pardon, or forgiveness, of a sin
Predestination A religious belief that god has already decided who will go to heaven and who will not
Annul To declare invalid
Seminary A school for religious training
Heresy A religious belief that contradicts what the church says is true
