Push Factor Causes a person to leave a region or area
Pull Factor Causes a person to go to a new area for a new life.
Indentured Servant Someone who labors to pay a debt; usually to pay for transportation to the New World (America)
Puritan, Quaker and Catholic Christian religions that left England to settle in America to escape religious persecution
Overcrowding in Cities Term used to describe a city that has too many people; Overpopulation that results in problems like disease, sanitation issues and crime
North Atlantic The Northern part of the Atlantic Ocean that includes Greenland, Iceland and the British Isles
Joint Stock Company A company whose stock is owned jointly by the shareholders. First companies to sponsor settlers to America
