Industrial Revolution test study guide BRY

How did the development of canals (river) impact the transporting of goods for society? It made the transporting of goods faster and cheaper.
Before the Industrial Revolution, people worked on farms. How did this change after the Industrial Revolution began? Many people began working in factories.
What was the result of the invention of Eli Whitney's cotton gin? The export of cotton increased in the United States.
Why did historians name the time period between the 1800s and the early 1900s the Industrial Revolution? Big change. A lot of changes with the factories.
What effect did the steam locomotive (train) effect daily life? farmers could send their goods (things) to almost any city or town faster
What effect did the steam boat affect daily life? fastest and cheapest way to ship goods (things)
Why did the federal government build the National Road? It was wide and paved for smooth travel.
How did the Lowell Mills change the lives of young women or children? They left home to earn money for themselves and their families.
