WordMeaning
Trade Route A logistical network identified as a series of pathways and stoppages used for the commercial transport of cargo.
Natural Resource A resource foun in nature.
Sahara Desert A vast desert in west Africa.
Sahel The ecoclimatic and biogeographic zone of transition in Africa between the Sahara to the north and the Sudanian Savanna to the south.
Savanna A grassy area good for fertle ground and animals.
Tribute A payment payed to a ruler by another ruler who concured them.
Taxes Fees people/villagers/citizens have to pay.
Population Growth A grow in population.
Extended Families People who are close family like mom, dad, siblings, grandparents, cosins, etc.
Kingdom of Ghana A kingdom in Africa that lasted from the 6th to the 13th century CE, located south of the Sahara desert and northwest of the Niger River in modern day Mauritania and Mali.
Government A group of leadership.
Trans-Saharan trade Travel across the Sahara (north and south) to reach sub-Saharan Africa from the North African coast for trade.
Monarchy When there is a royal family of there is one person in charge.
Wangara A central element of a Soninke diaspora and go back for centuries in history, namely to the Soninke kingdom of Ghana.
Taghaza An abandoned salt-mining centre located in a salt pan in the desert region of northern Mali.
Traditinal Econemy Hunting. People fending for themselves
