Basic terms of Canada

TermDefinition
Algae bloom Is a rapid increase in algae caused by phosphorus
Phosphorus A chemical use in toothpaste and fertilizer but is bad for lake and other bodies of water that carry algae
Humid continental climate When a country is hot all summer and cold all winter
Slag The left over rock from the smelting process
Clear cutting/deforestation When companies clear an area of trees
Acid rain When pollutants are put in the air are mixed with the water molecules
Growing season The number of days between the last killing frost in the spring and first killing frost in the fall
