When George Washington was leaving the office of the President what did he say? No political parties, avoid foreign alliance and stay out of other countries wars, and avoid more debt from war.
What did Republicans support? Favored state government and favored France.
What did the Federalists support? Favored strong National government and favored Britain.
What was the Alien Act? Immigrants were able to be deported and were thought as dangerous.
What was the Sedition Act? It was where people were thrown in jail if they said bad things about the government.
What were the Alien and Sedition acts aimed at? They were aimed to stop Democratic Republicans and sympathisers for the French.
What did the acts violate. They violated the First Amendment ( Speech and Press)
Who made the Virginia and Kentucky resolutions? Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
What was the 12 Amendment? It put the President and the Vice President on separate ballots.
There was a peaceful transfer between what type of Presidents? A federalist to a Democratic Republican.
How much did Napoleon sell all of Louisiana for? 15 million
What was the goal of the Lewis and clark expedition? to find the Northwestern Water Passage or water communication.
Who did Lewis and Clark find on their expedition? Native Americans (Indians)
What did the War of 1812 do? War made America a world power and created great Nationalism or pride in the American colony.
What did the Monroe Doctrine tell the European countries? They told them to stay out of others war and the affairs of North and South America.
