What does a tax on whiskey causes Pennsylvania whiskey makers to do. Rebel against tax.
What does National gov. prove? That it can enforce laws unlike they did in Shays rebellion.
How is the gov. now stronger? They can enforce laws proving the Constitution is a strong enough gov. to run the country.
What did George Washington say when he was leaving the office of the Pres? He said that the country shouldn't have political parties because they would divide or split the country, they should avoid foreign alliances and stay out of other countries war + and avoid getting into further debt.
Who supports/favors the Democratic Republican Party? Farmers, Frontier settlers who favored state govs. also favored france
Who favors/supports Federalist Parties? The rich, educated wellborn which favored strong national go. And great britain and france.
What did the Alien Act allow John Adams to do? Deport or make immigrants or aliens he thought were dangerous to leave the country.
What did the sedition Act allow John adams to do? Arrest and fine citizens if they said any criticism or hate towards the Federal go. or pres.
What did the Alien and Sedition Acts aim for? To stop the Democratic Republicans and any sympathizers for the French cause. But Mainly Aimed for those who where against the federalist positions, which was a violation of the 1st Amendment , speech and press.
virginia and Kentucky Resolutions By James madison and Thomas Jefferson , why did they make it? Since states created the go. they think that they should have a right to say whether or not they want to cancel or nullify a Federal gov.
Why did the 12 Amendment put pres. and Vice pres. on separate ballots? Because Thomas J and Aaron Burr had the same amount of electoral votes, which made it to where the ice pres. candidate was voted on separately from the President.
Who did the House of Representatives break ties with after 35 votes? Aaron B and Thomas J
Why did Napoleon want to sell the port of New Orleans to Jefferson for 15 mil? Because of the war with Great britain
What was the number one goal for the lewis and Clark expedition? To find the Northwest water passage or water communication. [which was supposed to be a link between the Atlantic to Pacific ocean]
Who did lewis and clark also make contact with, and what else did they do? Contacted with Naties, mapped routes and noted what animals they discovered.
What was the Monroe Doctrine? A dicument issued by James Monroe tha told all European countries to stay out of the business of the North and South America/ Basically the Western hemisphere or they would have to deal with america. Which was the same for them too.
