Who is Alonso Alvarez de Pineda?? He led several expeditions to help map the western coastlines of the Gulf of Mexico.
Who is Sieur de La Salle?? He explored the Great Lakes region of the u.s. and canada, the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.
Who is Cabeza de Vaca?? He was a spanish explorer of the New World, and one of the 4 survivors of the 1527 Nervaez expedition.
Who is David G. Burnet?? He was an early politician within the Republic of Texas.
Who is Sam Houston?? He was the commander of the Texas Revolutionary Army.
Who is Anson Jones?? He was a doctor, a businessperson, a member of congress, and the 4th and the last president of the Republic of Texas.
Who is Mirabeau B. Lamar?? He was a leading Texas political figure during the Texas Republic Era.
Who is John A. Graves He was an American writer.
Who is James Bowie?? He played a prominent role in the Texas Revolution is his death at the Battle at the Alamo.
Who is James Fannin?? He was a 19th century American military figure in the Texas Army and leader during the Texas Revolution.
Who is Santa Anna?? He was a Mexican politician and general who fought to defend royalist New Spain and then for Mexican Independence.
Define Ceded. To give up power or territory.
Who is Stephen F. Austin?? Known as the "Father of Texas", and the founder of Texas, he led the second, and the the successful colonization of the region.
Define effect. A change that is a result or consequence of an action or other cause.
Define affect. To make a difference.
Define capitol. A building occupied by a state legislature.
Define capital. The most important city or town of a country or region.
