Magna Carta An English document signed by King John that limits the powers of the king.
Silk Road A trade route that spanned from the Black Sea to China.
Crusades Holy wars during the Middle Ages over Jerusalem between the Christians and the Islamic Empire
Commercial Revolution An econonmic time in Europe which created the merchant class
Joint- Stock Company A company in which more than one person invests his or her money.
Renaissance A period in European history characterized by a rebirth in the interest in Greek and Roman arts and sciences
Monopoly Where one person, company, or country has economic control over a product
Christopher Columbus Spanish sailor that found the New World for Spain. Began a trade route across the Atlantic.
Hernan Cortes A Spanish conquistador that defeated the Aztec Empire
Fancisco Pizzaro A Spanish Conquistador that defeated the Inca empire
Francisco Coronado A Spanish Conquistador that explored the southwest North America looking for the cities of gold
Enconmieda A spanish economic system where landowners forced the natives to work for them.
Missons Settlements in Spanish America designed to convert Native Americans to Christianity
Haciendas Large estates used for farming in New Spain and Peru
Viceroys Ruled in place of the king in New Spain and Peru
Peninsulares People born in Spain with Spanish parents.
Creole People born in the new world with Spanish parents
Mestizo People born in the new world with spa
Tainos The native people that lived in the Carribean before Columbus
Pueblos Native Americans living in the southwest of North America.
