| anorexia | an emotional disorder in which you feel the need to lose weight |
| digestion | to break down food into substances that can be used by the body. |
| peristalsis | the constriction and relaxation of muscles of the intestine or other canal |
| cellulose | a polysaccharide consisting of chains of glucose monomers |
| capillary | blood vessels that form a network between the arterioles and venules |
| villi | absorbes nutrients |
| roughage | fibrous indegestiable material |
| egestion | discharge of undigested material |
| chyme | the pulpy acidic fluid that passes from the stomach to the small intestine |
