embargo a government plan to restrict ships from moving in or out of ports

Industrial Revolution a time when manufacturing changed from making things with hand tools to using machines
annex to claim or add
free enterprise economy that relies on market forces to distribute goods and resources and determine prices
capitalism an economic and social system in which businesses are privately owned

manufacturing the act of making a product from raw materials
supply total amount of goods or services available for purchase
demand the amount of a particular good or service that consumers want to purchase at a given time
blockade to isolate an area using ships
