Autocracy One person possesses unlimited power; citizen has little, if any, role in government
Democracy Government where people (citizens) have the power; citizens can VOTE
Parliamentary Democracy type of government where power is held by members of legislature/parliament

Prime Minister Chief executive in a parliamentary democracy; part of the legislature
President Chief executive in a presidential democracy; elected by the people

Chief Executive leader of a country
Chancellor Chief executive in Germany
Monarch King or queen
Constitutional Monarchy a government where a king or queen is the head of state but has little power; power is limited by a constitution
Government a body with the power to make laws, enforce those laws, and interpret the laws when disagreements arise; also provide protection for its citizens
Head of State a leader who represents the country at ceremonial events, but typically holds very little real power
