agriculture Farming
manufacturing Making goods in factories
retail Selling goods in marketplaces
subsistence farming Raising a variety of crops and animals to feed a family
commercial farming Raising a large amount of one or two crops to sell to make a living.
non-renewable energy resources Limited substances such as coal, oil, natural gas, and uranium
renewable energy resources Unlimited sources such as solar, hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal power
gemstones Valuable mineral crystals like diamonds and rubies that are used in jewelry.
precious metals Valuable metal elements such as silver, gold, and platinum.
hydroelectricity Electricity made when water moves through a dam and turns a generator.
nuclear power energy created when atoms are split apart
nomadic herding raising animals such as sheep or cattle by moving to new grasslands seasonally to feed them
