| homeland | the land that belongs to a people |
| Messiah | a person sent by God to save people |
| gospel | one of four books of the New Testament part of the Bible, a word that means "good news" |
| betray | to stop being loyal to someone |
| crucify | to hang someone on a cross to die |
| disciple | a follower of someone |
| Gentile | a non-Jew |
| co-emperor | a person who rules part of an empire while another person rules the other part |
| vaulted | a ceiling that is high, arched and covers a large space |
| sanitation | the act of keeping something clean and free from disease |
| imperfection | something that makes an object or person less than perfect |
