| Convert | To change from one from to another, such as from one religion to another. |

| Role | Position that someone has a society. |
| Landmass | Is one very large, unbroken area land. |
| Topography | Or arrangement of physical features. |
| Middle Ages | A period between the collapse of the Roman Empire, about A.D 1500. |
| Medieval | Which means related to the Middle Ages. |
| Charlemagne | Or Charles the Great. |
| Diffusion | Or spread. |
| Religious Order | Is a community of men or women devoted to prayer and service and bound by certain vows. |
| Benedict of Nursia | Had a lasting effect on monastic life. |
| Abbot | Or head of the monastery. |
| St. Patrick | As a boy, Patrick was captured by pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland. |
| Sacraments | These are the sacred rites of the Church , which include baptism communion. |
| Fief | Or grant of land, to a loyal follower. |
| Serf | Were peasants who were legally "tied"to the lord's land and could not leave it. |
| Chivalry | This was a Christian warrior's code of behavior. |
| Manor | Was the self-sufficient estate of a medieval lord. |
