Colonial America

US-Unit 1

Geography Study of the lands - specifically features & people
Government the group of people that has power to make laws and important decisions for a community, state, or nation
Colony a country or area under the full or partial control of another country
Trade the act of exchanging something for something else
Democracy A system of government in which all people are involved in the political process, usually through voting
Agriculture the science or practice of farming
Crops A plant that is grown as food to be eaten immediately or sold immediately - including fruits, vegetables & grains
Manufacture Making a large number of goods to be sold
Native American A member of a native tribe living on the American continent before Europeans arrived
Natural Resource Materials grown in nature, that can be used for economic gain
Economy Wealth and resources of a country, in terms of production and consumption of goods
Industry Economic activity involved in processing and selling raw materials, or conversion of raw materials into manufactured goods
