Geography Unit Vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Absolute Location | The exact location of place on earth.The most common way is to identify the location using latitude and longitude coordinates. |
| Relative Location | The position of something relative to another landmark. |
| Human-Environment Interaction | The relationships between people and their environment; how people depend on and adapt to the environment and change it. |
| Natural Disasters | Any event or force of nature that has catastrophic consequences,as avalanche,earthquakes, ,forest fire, hurricane,lightning, etc |
| Settlement Patterns | Where and how people chose to settle. |
| Population Density | A measurement of population per unit area or unit volume. |
| Per Capita | Per each person |
| Distribution | The way in which something is shared out among a group or spread over an area. |
| Sustainable | Able to be maintained at a certain rate at a level; able to be upheld or defended |
| Urbanization | The process of making an area more urban* (city) |
| Barriers | Obstacle that prevents movement or access. |
| Corridors | Passage or pathway that allows movement |
| Migration | Movement from one pant of something to another. |
| Immigration | The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country. |
| Emigration | The act of leaving one's own country to settle permanently in another; moving abroad. |
| Agriculture | The science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, and other products. |
