Linear A relationship for which the graph is a straight line
Rate A ratio that compares two quantities with different units
Direct Variation Another term for proportional; When two variables have the same y/x ratio
Constant of Proportionality Another term for unit rate
Proportion An equation stating that two ratios or rates are equal
Slope The rate of change between any two points on a line
Unit rate A rate where the denominator is equal to 1 unit
Ordered Pair A pair of numbers used to locate a point on the coordinate plane
Origin The point (0,0)
Complex Fraction A fraction that has a fraction as both the numerator and the denominator
Quadrent One of the four regions on a coordinate plane
Rate of Change Describes how one quantity changes in relation to another
Proportional Another term for direct variation; when two variables have the same x/y ratio
Coordinate Plane The grid where ordered pairs are graphed
X-Coordinate The first number in an ordered pair
Y- Coordinate The second number in an ordered pair
