AMINO ACID Aminoacido Any of the 20 organic molecules which combine to form proteins. Cualquiera de las 20 moléculas orgánicas que se combinan para formar proteínas.
CARBOHYDRATE Carbohidrato Organic compound made up of C, H, O, many of them are nutrients for living organisms. Compuesto orgánico hecho de C, H y O, muchos son nutrientes para los seres vivos.
MONOSACCHARIDE Monosacarido Simple sugar, unit of carbohydrates. Azúcar simple, unidad básica de carbohidratos.
LIPIDS Lipidos Compound that doesn't dissolve on water, it includes fats. They storage energy and form the cellular membranes. Compuesto que no se disuelve en agua, incluye las grasas. Almacenan energía y forman las membranas celulares.
NUCLEOTIDE Nucleotido Unit of nucleic acids, it consists on a sugar, a phosphate group and a nitrogenous base. Unidad de ácidos nucleicos, consiste en un azúcar, un fosfato y una base nitrogenada.
POPLIPEPTIDE Polipeptido Amino acids polymer stated by peptide bonds. Polímero de aminoácidos unidos por enlaces peptídicos.
POLYSACCHARIDE Polisacarido Complex carbohydrate made of a monosaccharides chain stated by bonds. Carbohidrato complejo formado por una cadena de monosacáridos unidos por enlaces
HYDROLYSIS Hidrolisis Chemical reaction where polymers are broken into smaller units by the addition of water. Reacción en la que rompen polímeros en unidades más simples añadiendo agua.
POLYMER Polimero Compound made by the repetition of units (monomers). Compuesto formado por la repetición de unidades (monómeros).
DEHYDRATION SYNTHESIS Sintesis por deshidratacion Chemical reaction where new molecules are formed by losing water molecules. Reacción química en la que se forman moléculas perdiendo moléculas de agua
PROTEIN Proteina Organic compound, it consist in a chain of amino acids. Compuesto organico, consiste en una cadena de aminoacidos.
FATTY ACID Acido graso Unit of lipids Unidad de los lipidos.
NUCLEIC ACID Acido nucleico Organic compounds, their main function is related with the information of organisms. Compuestos organicos, su principal funcion esta relacionada con la informacion de los seres vivos.
MONOMER Monomero Unit or building block. Unidad.
