Amun Ra/Re Shown as falcon with a sun on his head- god of creation-most important god- Egyptians believe that rising sun is a symbol of creation and renewal.
Osiris Shown as human, often green- Killed by jealous brother Seth-god of the underworld- All good pharaoh become him when they die- (in life they were Horus (his son) ).
Horus Shown as falcon- know as the Sky God- gives his power to each pharaoh- son of Osiris and Isis- Lost his eye fighting uncle Seth.
Anubis Shown as jackal or wild dog- god of funerals and death- protected the dead- supervised embalming.
Connection between Howard Carter and King Tut Howard Carter found King Tuts tomb in 1922. This was important because the tomb had barely been touched and we learned a lot about ancient Egypt through it.
Menes/Narmer's Legacy He united Upper and Lower Egypt as one- He established a code of laws and an irrigation systems- first king of Egypt all together
Kufus Legacy He made the Great Pyramid of Giza and defined the pharaohs job he also named himself a god.
