What happened in August 1814? Britain burnt the white house down and captured Washington D.C.
What was the peace treaty called and what did it do? Treaty of Ghent and it made America have peace with Britain and make the war a tie so no one will declare war again. This was mostly for trade and Canada.
What troops did he send to go pay for the Louisiana purchase and go south? Lewis and Clark the south was Zebulon Pike.
What year did Thomas Jefferson become president and end? 1800 and ended at his 2nd term in 1809.
Who is James Madison? Jefferson's secretary of state and a author of 30 of the 81 Federalist papers.
What are war hawks? Southern congressmen wanting war so they attacked the east.
