What were the three separate periods? Early Middle Ages, High Middle Ages, and Late Middle Ages
When was the Early Middle Ages? 500-1000 A.D.
When was the High Middle Ages? 1000-1350 A.D.
When was the Late Middle Ages? 1350- 1500 A.D.
Europe conjured up a grim world by who? the Renaissance Thinkers
What were the Renaissance Thinkers like ? They were barbaric and uncivilized
By what century was Europe more civilized than the 500s? 13th century
What ways did Europe show civilization? They had great cities, government and legal systems, universities, and built new buildings (castles and cathedrals)
Why are the Middle Ages referred to as the "Dark" Ages? They had few documents to survive the era. For the ones that survives, they are lacking sources.
What are the Germanic Tribes? They conquered Britain and settled there.
Who were the Germanic Tribes? The Angles, Saxons, and Jutes were the Germania Tribes
Who were the Franks? The Franks settled in modern-day France, Belgium, and Western Germany.
In the Germanic Tribes, what kind of tribe were they? They were a patriarchal tribe, one who the head of the family passes down from father to son.
When were the Dark AGes? The Dark Ages were from 476 A.D.- 800 A.D.
There was a constant state of war, Roman structure was gone, and there was little education
