Absolute location Location description using longitude and latitude.
Aquifer A layer of rock that holds water underground.
Arid Lacking moisture, dry.
Basin Land drained by a river system.
Conterminous Contained in the same boundaries.
Cultivate To prepare land for planting crops.
Drought A prolong period of below average precipitation
Ecosystem A community of living things that depend in each other in order to function as a unit.
Erosion The process of breaking down, as in the break down of rock by wind and water.
Folklore Traditional beliefs, myths, tales and practices of a people.
Organic Material derived by other organisms.
Physical feature The natural land forms and characteristics of a place.
Physio-graphic Region Land regions that were formed by similar geologic processes
Precipitation The amount of water in the air that falls to earth as rain or snow.
Primary soucrce Something made or written by some one who was there at that time.
Relative location Location description of using a places location relative to other places.
Sediment Material such as sand and stones deposited by water.
Shelterbelt A barrier of trees and shrubs that protect against the wind and reduces erosion.
