TermDefinition
George Washington- This man was president during the Whiskey Rebellion and set a precedent for foreign policy after the French Revolution.
Francis Scott key- Wrote the Star Spangled Banner
Oliver Hazard Perry- A naval commander who fought the British on Lake Erie. "Don't give up the ship!"
Aaron Burr- Words by Alexander Hamilton cost this man the Presidential Election of 1800 and eventually led him to challenge Hamilton in a duel
John Adams- This man was a Federalist and was President during the XYZ Affair and Alien and Sedition Acts
John Marshall- was appointed the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court when he was only 45 years old.
Zebulon Pike- Explored the southern portion of the Louisiana territory. He has a mountain peak named after him.
Sacagawea- Helped interpret and navigate for the Corps of Discovery
