Barbados Slave Code Denied pretty much all human rights for slaves. Codified-legal system, laws. Fear caused the laws to become harsher. Enacted after a major revolt.
Maryland Colony 2nd plantation colony-founded 1934 Lord Baltimore(prominent English Catholic family). Permitted freedom of worship, hoping for his own people's freedom.

John Rolfe Married Pocahontas as a sign of peace after the Anglo-Powhatan War of 1614. Died 1622 when Natives attacked again. Father of tobacco industry. 1st interracial marriage (English thought they were culturally superior) Introduced 1st cash crop
