hieroglyphics A writing system that implemented pictures used by Ancient Egypt.
dynasty A family of rulers
Giza The city where the Great Pyramids are located.
hieratic script A simplified version of hieroglyphics
The Old Kingdom When the pyramids were built in Egypt.
Black Lands Fertile lands near the Nile River.
Red Lands The hot deserts near the Nile
Upper Egypt Southern Egypt where the land is drier and more mountainous.
Lower Egypt Northern Egypt where the delta flows into the Mediterranean sea.
