Roaring 20s and Great Depression Vocabulary

Business Cycle Pattern of economic growth followed by an economic decline
Buying on Margin The purchase of an asset by paying the initial or down payment and borrowing the balance from a bank or broker
Eugenics Belief that the human race could be improved by breeding. Supposed that superior parents would birth even better children
Speculation Investment in stocks, property, or other ventures in the hope of gain by with the risk of loss.
Conservative In general, a person who opposes or wants to limit government intervention in the economy and social welfare state politics
