Starting a New Life in America

QuestionAnswer
Why did the immigrants to America? Some of the immigrants came to America for freedom of religion and others did not like the laws of their country.
Many immigrants lefted their countries, what did they expected to get or do when the immigrants got to America? The immigrants thought they could earn more money in America.
What countries did the immigrants come from? They are from China, Ireland, Germany, Northern England, Great Britain, Mexicans and Japan
There was a reason why the Irish came to America, what was their reason? They were hungry and poor.
Why was the African America a different kind of immigrants? The Africans were forced to come to America as slaves.
What reason would the Jews come to United States? They came for religious freedom and to feel safe.
Many immigrants lived in New York and worked in dirty factories. How did the immigrates become legal America citizens? They went to school to learn how speak English and lived in the United States for five years.
There was a famous immigrant newspaper reporter that helped lots of immigrants. What did he do? He got better housing, built parks and playgrounds.
How did the immigrants help build America? They became store owners, farmers, government leaders, teachers and doctors.
How did the immigrants becomes productive citizens? They worked in factories, built railroads and some became very rich.
